Dear Friends
In it’s 19th season, The Etobicoke Community Concert Band is kicking off its exciting 2013—2014 Concert Series on October 25th with Remember When, an acknowledgment and salute to some of the great musical artists who are no longer with us, and to those artists and bands that have endured the passage of time including: Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Dick Clark, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and the Tijuana Brass.
Christmas Fantasy is scheduled for December 13th, bringing you songs of the season, and a special guest to lead us through ’Twas the Night Before Christmas. We hope to work along with the Salvation Army and CTV in asso- ciation with their “Toy Mountain” drive—further details will follow.
Mark March 21st on your calendars as well, as we present Give Our Regards to Broadway, highlighting award— winning Musicals that have appeared in the ‘Big Apple’: Evita, Miss Saigon and many more…
And last but not least, join us May 30th for Prelude to a Dream, the lead into our 20th Anniversary Gala planned for the 2014—2015 season. The Etobicoke Community Concert Band was formed in 1995 and has been a vibrant musical force in the community ever since. Prelude to a Dream will be a retrospective of the past 19 years, taking our best pieces to showcase the start of the next season.
The Etobicoke Community Concert Band’s mission is to enliven the spirit of the community with high quality musical entertainment. Beyond our 4-part series of concert hall performances, we extend our resources to a multitude of community performances, charitable events and worthwhile causes in our neighbourhood and in our city. And there are even more benefits if you care also to make a donation and become a member of our very special Top Brass.
Top Brass members enjoy reserved theatre seating, pre-concert champagne receptions, an official tax receipt, and the satisfaction that they are helping to support our community of music in Etobicoke. Individual membership is $50, family membership is $80.
