Getting Ready for our May 29, 2015 Concert

We are working hard to prepare for the final formal concert of our 20th Anniversary Season. This show “Kiwanis Rocks” is a tribute to our friends at the Kiwanis Club Kingsway Humber who have been great supporter of the Band for the past 20 years. Our special guest is Matisse Blundell, trumpet who placed 3rd. at the Kiwanis International Music Festival. She will be playing the “Concerto for Trumpet” (aka Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto). The Kiwanis Club will also be presenting their annual Harvey Rutledge Award to clarinetist James Ty who will perform Acker Bilks’ “Stranger on the Shore” with the Band. It’s rather a trumpet themed concert as we will be playing Bugler’s Holiday while our Music Director/Conductor John Edward Liddle will play a tribute to the late trumpet great Johhny Cowell.
